This course is a comprehensive review designed to prepare students and medical laboratory professionals to take the international certification exam in Blood Banking, BB(ASCPi). The course covers essential topics in blood banking, including donor selection, blood collection, preparation of blood components, identification and testing of blood group systems, and application of standardized procedures for antibody screening and identification.

 

Course Objectives:

  • Understand donor selection, blood collection, and component preparation.

  • Identify and interpret major blood group systems.

  • Perform antibody screening, identification, and compatibility testing.

  • Recognize transfusion reactions and transfusion-transmitted infections.

  • Apply theoretical knowledge to case-based scenarios.

  • Prepare effectively for the BB(ASCPi) exam.

Target Audience:

  1. Medical Laboratory Science Graduates (MLS or MLT). Individuals seeking to take the ASCP certification exam to advance their careers in laboratory medicine.

  2. Clinical Laboratory Professionals. Those already working in labs who want to solidify their knowledge and gain certification for career advancement.

  3. Pathology Assistants and Lab Managers. Individuals seeking to enhance their understanding of laboratory operations, quality control, and diagnostics.

5 weeks / 2 sessions per week
