
This course is a comprehensive review designed to prepare students and medical laboratory professionals to take the international certification exam in Hematology, H(ASCPi). The course covers essential topics in hematology and coagulation, including the physiology of blood cells in health and disease states, as well as laboratory testing methods for erythrocytes and leukocytes. Blood hemostasis and coagulation disorders are also discussed.
Course Objectives:
Gain mastery of hematopoiesis, cell morphology, and hematologic diseases.
Understand coagulation pathways, laboratory assays, and disorders.
Strengthen interpretation of laboratory findings through case studies.
Apply theoretical knowledge to practical diagnostic situations.
Target Audience:
Medical Laboratory Science Graduates (MLS or MLT). Individuals seeking to take the ASCP certification exam to advance their careers in laboratory medicine.
Clinical Laboratory Professionals. Those already working in labs who want to solidify their knowledge and gain certification for career advancement.
